2015 Mazda CX-5 Easy Installation

Worked great on my 2015 Mazda CX-5. There is no need to change the voltage. Really simple and easy. Connect the yellow wire to the 2 reversed wires and the black wire goes to ground. RCA connects to video/camera input.

Pros
  • Pleasant to Use
Cons
  • Easy Reparability

The kit does not include a 6V converter!

Customer, please note that the picture shows the converter, but this is not included in the scope of delivery! We had to struggle to find it locally as we had everything disassembled and we were in the middle of this case right now. I have notified Amazon and hope this gets fixed.

Pros
  • Super price
Cons
  • I don't like anything, everything is fine

Didn't work for me

Didn't work for me. The instructions are wrong and incomplete. You need to plug it into the car's wiring harness. Why order this when you need to weld? Apparently a 12v to 6v converter is needed, no mention of it. I ordered a converter, I'm waiting if this solves the problem.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • Some errors

OEM camera now works with Pioneer AVH-4200NEX

Comes with clear instructions and easy to install. If you have a 2015 Grand Touring CX-5, make sure you have a step-down transformer as well. The OEM camera requires 6 volts, not 12 like most aftermarket head units. In my case Pioneer AVH-4200NEX.

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

6v converter not included

My biggest problem with this product is that the 6v converter is not included on the product picture. This is a very misleading practice. So when I received the product I had to go to great lengths to find a local converter. In fact, only one side of the connector is used for each application. They don't need to be connected.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Works on 2014 CX-5 Touring but poor quality

I got this to work using my factory wiring although this item comes without instructions. I didn't get the 6v buck and it still works, but I had to connect the wire to the stock wiring harness so the aftermarket unit could detect when the car was going in reverse. The image quality is miserable compared to the factory head unit. At night it's almost useless. I don't know if the camera goes into night mode or if the problem is that I didn't use the 6V pull down. If anyone has any advice, I'd…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Functionality

Fits Mazda CX-5 (first generation)

I bought this adapter to use in my wife's Mazda CX-5 when I need an aftermarket Pioneer NEX head unit 4200 install, but keep the factory camera. That worked for me. The image appears grainier, but this may be due to the new head unit having a larger screen and the lower-resolution factory camera. Definitely the only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is that the instructions weren't very clear and I had to search through a few threads on the internet trying to figure out what and where to…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Hard to say
