I like the work Box Enclosures has done on these extruded BEX models. This puts a well-designed project one step ahead of the rest. This is a very well made extruded aluminum case with very flexible board mounting options. I look forward to using Box Enclosures products in the future.

Extrusion went well, no deviations or impurities. Oddly enough, I used this shroud to create a custom Cafe Racer oil tank. All I had to do was add some bolt spacers and some rubber gasket material to make sure it could hold 60psi. Drilled fittings for hoses and old. I like it. I understand most of you won't be using it that way, so I'll just say that the extrusion tolerances seem very consistent, the mounting brackets are precision cut on the ends, and the screws just fit perfectly.

Remember that suspicion you had in Shop 101 that the project equipment item assigned was designed to frustrate you and cause you to fail? Here it is in spades. The design is flawed from the start - there's no removable top or bottom, so all the electronics have to be moved front to back, which most builds can't do. Then the dimensions are wrong - short width and large depth - the exact opposite of most design requirements. But there is more. The screws holding the panels together are too long…
