Good for surface spraying.

I bought this airbrush to apply insulating layers of clear acrylic to my alcohol ink art. This works great and the result is crisp and streak-free. Fully seals artwork and protects alcohol ink from water damage. Now I don't have to put them under glass anymore. Spray mold about 2-3 inches. For thicker material there is a coarse spray tip that you can get from Badger.

Cons
  • Non-Automatic

The atomization didn't impress.

You get what you pay for. Its best feature is that it's cheap and super easy to maintain. Replacement bottles are inexpensive (use 3/4 oz Paasche or 1 oz bottles if you need seals that will not dissolve in solvents, this size fits this badger). But the atomization is not very good, very coarse. I bought it to spray POR-15 but wasn't impressed, it wastes a lot of paint through overspray, and POR-15 isn't cheap. I risk a more expensive airbrush.

NOT properly sprayed may require redoing the entire project.

Bought two of these. The first block, the first layer went well. Sprayed according to instructions. Cleaned the jug and spray bottle. The first block, the second layer didn't spray properly and the only way it worked at all was upside down and then it sprayed drips. He took out the second block, poured a glass of Cerakote, did not spray at all. I checked the pressure of the compressor, it was within the limits specified in the instructions. It may be necessary to redo ALL the prep work I've…
