I cook and all the garbage that is collected during the day falls into these bags and is carried out of the house that same evening. These bags serve that purpose well. These are the only compostable bags allowed in Canada as Canada does not have the high temperature green compost bag equipment used in the US. . I had to use them while living in Canada and they are terrible. They are not airtight, condensation after 2-3 days will cause the bag to rip like any other paper bag.
