You did a very good job, especially after I sharpened the edges a bit. Didn't really need to sharpen much, just a few strokes on the stone and they went through tough leather over 1/8 inch thick with ease.

I hesitated to order based on reviews noticed or not noticed. The set I received was sharp out of the box with a bevel on the right (outer) side of the punch. My only gripe (why am I giving 4 stars instead of 5) is that these aren't true quarter-round shots. They're just under 1/4 of a circle, so you'll need to take 2 hits to get a true 90 degree quarter circle result. 3 strokes to get a full half circle.

I think I got my money's worth. I was expecting them to cut through 5 ounces of leather but was sadly disappointed. They are crude, dirty and boring. After spending some time cleaning and sharpening them, they cut, but they needed to be hammered in about 5 times. At first they left only a depression, but later they finally broke through. I sharpened them with a 600 grit diamond blade, which should do the trick. My recommendation is not to buy them.

As the product had a choice of semi-circle and arch shapes I initially expected a smoother arch when selecting the arch but that may have been my fault. These arches are very semi-circular in my opinion. They were well packaged but upon opening the box I noticed some very roughly made stamps. Don't get me wrong, they are durable and will likely last a long time, but you will need to invest some time to complete them. My cutting edges still have burrs and the metal is pitted and dirty.
