Description of πŸ“» Affordable Balun One Nine v2: Compact 9:1 (1:9) Enclosed Balun with Input Protection for Improved HF & Shortwave Reception. Ideal for Software Defined Radio (RTL-SDR & SDRPlay), Ham It Up, and Compatible Radios.

Very small 9:1 balun meant for attaching long wire and dipole HF antennas to your HF capable SDR, radio or Ham It Up upconverter. Assembled into a custom aluminum enclosure and includes 3 antenna connector adapters and a male SMA to male SMA barrel connector. At 38mm x 25.0mm in total size, this balun is a bit larger than our popular Balun One Nine v1, but also has better HF performance and can be used to even lower frequencies. Very low insertion loss with a maximum input power of +24dBm. Designed primarily for HF amateur bands, but specifications are accurate to frequencies up to 80MHz+. Made in North America. 2 year warranty!.

This is my second Balun One Nine v2

This is my second Balun One Nine v2 and the first in a case. It's really important at frequencies from 100 kHz to 30 MHz. really helps against local electronic noise in the house.

Pros
  • Radio antennas
Cons
  • Basically everything is fine, but...

Durable and easy to use. The suitcase costs extra.

Use with a ground loop antenna for RF reception (about 100 feet off the ground). Works very well with rtl-sdr. You can pick up wspr from around the world with a preamp installed.

Pros
  • Accessories and Supplies
Cons
  • Worms me

Works well with long wire antenna and shortwave receiver

I used this balancing balun as a stand for my random length long wire antenna (I researched 119ft) and my Eton Elite 750 shortwave receiver. . I've compared it to a telescopic antenna on several bands and the long wire antenna through the Balun One Nine V2 gave excellent reception every time. FM reception was also better. I have been warned that if you are a radio amateur and are considering it for that purpose it is for receive only and the Balun One Nine V2 CANNOT be used for transmit. I'm…

Very well made for AV accessories

This is a very well made balun. The new connectors are a significant upgrade from Konnektor v1. The metal case is of high quality and definitely helps to protect against RF interference. I also have v1 but this new v2 will be my main balun for my SDRplay RSP1A radio.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Good build quality but not impressed

I should have followed my instinct and not bought the product. Typically Chinese, the descriptions of suitable transformers are often wrong, but that is literally true. It's BALUN and he's acting like one. Most commonly, baluns have a 1:1 and 1:4 ratio and are used to isolate lines or dipole antennas. At higher values like 9:1 or 49:1 the core is wound as UnUn for use with random and half-wave wire antennas where ground or counterpoise are not as critical. What does that mean for you? This…

  • Stylish and modern design

  • Some minor issues
