Great value for radios

I have a few of these on normal power settings and this one with high, medium and low was great value so I couldn't pass it up. I'm not a main Revain customer but this was received three days after ordering which I find very quick.

Works great for radios

Older version UV-82HP licensed by Pofung is five years old Some things like on/off/volume controls on older models are of better quality but it's the real deal and works well, tested . Programming with CHIRP is easy with the UV-82HP software option when uploading/downloading to the radio.

Works best in radios

If you are a ham radio enthusiast this is not for you. The collateral ligament is bleeding profusely. (This means that at frequencies close to the expected frequency there is little output power). But 99% of people just want a walkie talkie that gets the job done without spending a lot of money. Adjust the frequencies, press the button, and the interlocutor will hear you. They work great!

Excellent build quality for the price, the dual PTT is great

Using this device with the TDR enabled and two PTT buttons is like wearing two separate radios at the same time. It is very nice. I don't have machines to test performance, but the price difference between triple power and standard dual power was so small that even if it's not 8 watts, I'm not too worried.

Great compared to others!

I own at least 5 different models of Baofeng radios. So far this is the best in every way. The microphone connection is good and firm. The battery is great! Transmission and reception are excellent. For once, I have NO complaints about the radio. If I get another one it will be this particular model. I hope they never discontinue this model. I use it to guard a church so the two transmit/channel buttons are great! I also use a Commountain cable/headphones for this. It's also the loudest…

Very reliable 2m 70cm radio

This is a great little radio. It is multifunctional, compatible with many accessories and easy to use. It's durable too. I work as a driver in remote areas, flying a truck on roads that are sometimes fist-sized gravel and boulders. This thing has been thrown and splattered with liquids more times than I can count and still works great. Sorry to people who say that 8 watts is just a marketing gimmick, but that is dead wrong. I did field tests with this model and the UV-5R. In the same spot, with

Great radio for the price

A versatile little entry-level radio. The ability to monitor unbundled analog public VHF/UHF services is a welcome addition. The ability to block the ability to transmit on all frequencies is good. I am currently set up to monitor my local amateur radio channels and my government services until I get a chance to get my technical license. If you're unfamiliar with how frequencies or partials work, do yourself a favor and read up. Knowing how they work in advance will save you some frustration…

UV 82 hp or not?

Just got my UV-82 Tri-Power. Physically it is identical to my old UV-82HP in every way (even the batteries and accessories are identical and interchangeable). But inside under the battery it says it's UV-82 rated at 8 watts. From the factory it has 3 power levels: low, medium and high. However, if you program it with CHIRP and use the CHIRP UV-82 program, you can only use the High and Low transmission options. I'm not sure what settings you get with the CHIRP High and Low option (1w and 4w or…

  • Decent performance

  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent value for money at a small price.

I really like this radio. I have two Baofeng UV-5R radios and for the money they are a great investment. The UV-82HP is more of a business radio. I have a Nagoya NA-24J antenna which has a gain of about 2dB and combined with 8 watts of power this radio opens up far away repeaters. Another cool feature of this radio is the PTT buttons. There are two, one above and one below. If you have two different frequencies, pressing the top PTT button will transmit on the top frequency on the display, and…
