My 6 year old son loves to have it on his lap while he does homework. The only problem is that the weight doesn't always stay evenly distributed. When the duvet moves, the weight in the cover shifts (even with the straps attached). I have to center it consistently.

Love it! I find adult/life size weighted blankets hot and uncomfortable because I can't walk anymore. It's great to have on your lap while watching TV or relaxing. It can go through the shoulder or through the chest. I'm not sure how it works, but I definitely find it comforting.

We tried double sized weighted blankets but found them difficult to manage for a nearly 80 year old and too hot to use in Florida. It's the right size and weight to move around without getting out of bed, and it doesn't cover your entire body so heat can be controlled. It's also small enough to take with you when you travel.

Borrowing from other reviews the internal weighted component slips. An inside corner came loose after only a few hours of use by my son, making the weight very uneven. I appreciate the concept of the removable lid, but it really reduces the usability of the product, especially if you have small children (6 year old) trying to maneuver with it. I have to convince him that the concept is right and constant adjustments are not for us.
