The screw hole spacing is clearly visible in the ad photos but I have not checked. Unfortunately, this is not the standard for empty wall boxes, but for real devices such as sockets or light switches. So you need to buy a mount that screws onto your empty box before you can use it. Not much use for this app, which is probably what you need it for.

Holes do not match empty boxes. The holes align with the holes on conventional sockets and/or switch panels covering the wall unit. However, as this is a blank there is obviously no device in the box so the holes have to match the screw holes in the box to actually mount it. They will not fit in standard electrical boxes of any brand sold in the US.

Maybe it fits Chinese boxes or something, but you have to screw them into the drywall to cover the standard US box. You would take it a step further by simply making your own socket cover for free. I'm guessing they might have been for the little orange low-voltage mud rings, but the item's name is misleading at best. You have to hope that most people would rather throw them away than go to the UPS store.

These wall mounts will not cover a standard US/CAN outlet. As other reviewers have pointed out, the screw spacing is configured for a Decora or GFCI device, and if the junction box has a Decora device, then a space probably isn't what you need. Not sure why there are so many rave reviews as under normal circumstances it might not work. I should have read the reviews but also the seller should pay attention to the cap type or dimensions. Chances are they're making too much money to give back…

If I have looked very closely at the seller's pictures (especially the attached one) (as I did after sending it back), you can clearly see that the screw holes do NOT match the standard screw spacing . Holes in a standard 1 gang US electrical box. This difference is not a scale issue or an artifact of the photo used - it really doesn't match! Only buy these covers if you plan on driving screws into the surrounding drywall around the box (good luck with that) or if you have odd box sizes…
