BD Diesel 1061501 Deep Sump Transmission Pan: Enhanced Capacity, Temp. Sending Unit Port, Gasket & Magnetic Drain Plug Review

Had to go in for sealing due to significant wear. I hope it doesn't leak - I hate leaks - they can ruin gear. Otherwise it would have been five stars. In my opinion they should have discounted this device.

Bought as part of regular maintenance. Fits my Dodge Ram 3500 perfectly. Make sure you have an inch pound torque wrench as there is a spec for the pan screws and pan plugs. High quality product and easy to install. Don't forget to buy extra deep sump liquid.

Excellent fit, easy to install. No leaks. The connector for the temperature sensor is in the right place (on the back). A filter extension that can leak (take in air) is not required. Very good product. I called BD and they sent me an extra drain plug/ring for $2.24! Added about 2 liters more ATF than in my 2003 Ram Cummins 48RE sump.

Fits well with supplied cap screws and reusable gasket. This sump does not have the magnet cavity originally housed in a standard steel sump, but the BD Diesel aluminum sump is deep enough that the magnet can easily sit over the cast ribs at the bottom of the deep sump. I kept mine away from electronics and valve body magnets.

When I first received the oil pan it looked very nice but after it was installed in the transmission shop it started to leak. After removing it for inspection, they found it to be a manufacturing defect in the pan, which their quality control even circled (pictured). Now that the pan is not covered by Revain's return policy I have contacted BD directly and they are unwilling to help me. Which is ironic because I bought it from their Revain store and not a third party store. So now I have a $300
