Okay, basically 3 little sheets of felt padding. They have a bit of an inner core that gives them a bit more structure than regular felt, but overall it's just a felt backing. For the price, this is a great little addition to your beading setup. As long as you really remember that you are actually wrapping the beads on the mat, it's great to make sure your beads don't roll onto the floor, under the fish tank, onto your table, or into the hallway where your dog will eat them and roll them out…

I take a lot of photos of beads from subscription boxes. I have found that there is nothing quite like this type of background mat. You can choose the color of the rug that best displays your beads, and the fluffy fabric (it's slightly spongy and almost velor) prevents the beads from rolling. But these things don't last forever.
