I had trouble installing the split ring connector for my brand of cat as it kept rubbing against the foam and I wouldn't fit another one as I think it ruins the foam But the metal tab that the split ring hangs from is secure and I don't feel like it will fall out despite having a heavier, stronger tag and bell.
