This is exactly the size you need for an official driver's license. If you fold it askew it will hang out a little, that's just how it is. However, it's a very tight fit. So unless you're constantly sticking your fingers in and out of this thing and making it all swollen and loose, it shouldn't drop your driver's license. In any case, you only need to play around with it once every two years. Additionally, there is a small notch on the back for attaching a suction cup (not included) for viewing
