Bella Cucina 13467 Circus Waffle Review

I was very excited about this product. I used it the next morning after receiving it. I went through a whole batch of batter and there wasn't a single edible waffle in it. The heat is so uneven! Half of the lion is on fire and the front half is sticky in the middle. The clowns were black! And the elephants were raw in the middle. It was in every party! The clowns had the most even heat (they just burned out when used with other molds), so I even tried using this mold alone. It gets so hot that…

We received this waffle maker as a gift for children for Christmas. At first I thought oh great! Another trick where food gets stuck and works once. Well I have to say I was a bit surprised. As per other reviews, the iron's plastic latch gets hot so I need to be prepared with an oven mitt and fork to disassemble the iron. Working with this iron, I noticed that you can't make the batter too thin or substitute applesauce for vegetable oil, otherwise the waffles will bake unevenly, burn and stick.

We've had no issues with uneven heat and our circus waffles looked great. If you could make Christmas decorations with this, that would be great. Unfortunately, you will put them in your mouth. The toxic smell emanating from the waffle maker never went away. I assumed any leftover production oils etc. would burn up with the first few waffles we threw away. However, there is a smell of precisely melting plastic, which is part of the iron itself and cannot simply burn out over time. We're not…
