How much sediment and feces do you like in your drinking water?

In less than two weeks, my Berkey filters formed a taupe film from Jacksonville Naval Air Station tap water. My previous Berkey took almost 6 months before so much crap with well water accumulated.

Pros

Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything's fine

Very Disappointed - Kitchen & Dining Room

It started when I opened the box and saw I had just paid 337.00 for cheap plastic. Nothing seals well. Filters are not stable. Filled less than half, checked for leaks, left for a few hours, came back, the whole floor in the kitchen was in the water. I have this piece of junk in my sink, I can't wait until tomorrow to see how much is left.

Pros
  • Useful Not Just for It's Intended Purpose
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Slow but Great

The best way to take advantage of this is to simply stay ahead of your water needs. It's a slow drip and you're not going to down a tall glass of water in an hour. I've never had a gravity filter before, so I don't know how it compares to others. What can I say, the result is excellent. I set this up in my office where I also have a small ice maker on a countertop igloo. I make ice with filtered water, and as silly as it may sound, I just enjoy drinking delicious ice water throughout the day…

FAUCET LEAKS WITH PERMANENT DRIPS

Bought this as a gift 1.5 years ago but then bought something else to give away - it was in stock until I found it the other day and decided to use it - Had to place it over my sink after assembling and filling as it was quickly dripping out of the faucet/faucet and by the next morning almost all of the 2.5 gallons it contained had been used up - the instructions warn against over-tightening the plastic screws I'm pulling they didn't turn out, so I didn't do it. After losing almost all of the…

Great tasting water. Easy to assemble and easy to use

We moved to a new apartment near Tampa, Florida and didn't like the taste of the water. We bought this water filter because we used 2.5 gallons of bottled water every other day. We expected it to pay for itself in 10 weeks. That was great! We also wanted something we could use if we had a hurricane. It was easy to assemble and we didn't need any tools. The guide was pretty good. Just a reminder to fill in the filters before installing. If you forget it, all you have to do is take it out, refill

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

My 2nd Berkey system, in shock, the water tastes like diesel fuel

First of all yes, this is a negative review but a very serious one. I would also like to point out that this is the second Berkey Light system I have owned (I used to be a happy customer). I thought I had ordered the exact same product but it was changed and what they did was a complete design flaw - particularly in relation to pathogen filtration which was one of the main reasons I wanted to run our local water through - it doesn't heal at all. I explain that in more detail in the review: The…
