My favorite baby yarn

Bernat Softee baby yarn is ALWAYS my choice for knitting baby clothes. I don't normally like acrylic threads, but it's good for busy moms to be able to wash and dry blankets/clothes without worrying about shrinkage. This yarn is very soft, the color range is great, and it washes and dries beautifully. This is the only baby yarn I use and I have been knitting for over 50 years.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Repair

Dark Salmon Color

We were looking for a color called "light red" which is halfway between salmon and red. This yarn is a little pinker than we were hoping for, but it's close enough. The texture is very soft. The thickness is convenient for our use, that is, to make an overcasting of a contrasting color around a pair of sofa throws. Not being a knitter, I'm not sure if this is thinner than regular yarn, but not drastically.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Waiting Too Long

Mild yes, but a big mess.

When I first received this yarn I thought it was very soft and would make a sweater for my granddaughter. Too bad I didn't try to roll it into a ball when I first got it because it's all tangled and knotted. The pictures show what fourth knot I encountered when trying to roll this yarn into a ball. What a mess. I've expired the return period for it, which means I wasted my money.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Expensive

Do not want it! Good for yarn

Bought in April to prepare a baby blanket. I struggled with this for weeks thinking I was, but it's yarn! Super soft but 1) tears! 2) glued in several places! This is not a knot to untie as the pieces are tied together and you can see it on the project! 3) I couldn't find the end and it ended up being a messy mix of knots and tangles! Started a new reel of a different brand and no problem!

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Can't remember

Good practice Patience

I bought this yarn to give a child a gift. The strand started off perfectly until I got a "plate of spaghetti" halfway through my project (photo attached). I once spent 6 hours deciding to unravel this mess. Hence the low rating. I haven't used Bernat yarn in years and don't know if this is a common occurrence or an accident, but I thought others should know my experience. I ended up having to cut the knot and tie the ends together. Also, all of these skeins had spots where the yarn was frayed.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Disappear
