Very important. Works perfectly.

This drive was a real winner. It works great and the price was fantastic. If I had to use an OEM drive for this old Macbook I would ditch it. Lots of $$$$$$$ from Apple. Thank you BestComputer.

Didn't fit the Macbook Pro from late 2008 or so.

Did not fit my Macbook Pro late 2008 as it should. One of the screw holes was broken but it works. Seems to be louder than my old drive.

Perfect replacement

It's not exactly the same model as this Mac, but the aging MacBook is way too different in performance. Update this generation of UniBody MacBook Pro. Next: It's a fan!

Good, but with a caveat about installing on a unibody MacBook

Works well so far. One thing to note during installation is that there is a small metal tab attached to the back of my old drive with two screws. When I replaced that plate with this one, I had to remove that tab from the old plate and attach it to the replacement plate. Otherwise, there was no way to fully back up the new drive.

Excellent optical drive

Excellent optical drive. Worked great on my PC that needed a slim slot-load optical drive. It works fine on my MacBook Pro too.
