Two tips for assembly

First the brackets need to be hammered onto a 4 x 6 pressure treated joist - this takes 20 minutes of continuous hammering. This will push the ends in a little. Submerge the entire mount in hot water! The easiest way to do this is in a plastic litter box - partially fill it with the hottest water from the sink, then add boiling water. This does not eliminate hammer blows, but halves the effort required. I assembled the swing by first laying a 4 x 6 beam on two ladders, one taller than the other

NOT stable: Play Sets and Play Equipment

These mounts are a good idea but impractical. FYI if you buy these: the tags come from opposite sides. This means that the label is facing forwards on one and backwards on the other. And they deviate. So you have right, left, front, back, although this is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. Here's my problem: I assembled everything despite the lack of instructions and it looked great. But it moves. More than I would like. After about a month I notice that the wood is cracking. Fast, easy and durable.

Good price and very durable. The assembly took about 1 hour. Previous reviewers and product photos note that the 4x6 holes are not positioned correctly. The manufacturer has apparently taken care of this as our mounts have holes in the corners. The included anchor bolts are zinc plated, which some reviewers say is unsuitable for pressure-treated lumber. Chemicals in pressure treated wood will corrode bolts and can fail over time. Using stainless steel or ceramic coated screws solves thisโ€ฆ
