Works, but carrots and other hard stuff are more difficult to handle. It's probably safer that way, but I'll use my old grater.

Good grater, exactly what I wanted but didn't pay attention to safety. It is very smooth and requires little effort to rub something. The wires are rounded and smooth. The Grandmas Acme grater had flat wires and was made for an easy and quick grater.

My mom had one of these when I was growing up. It worked very well. We used to grate potatoes, salt them and fry them in oil. you were so good I didn't have my mother's grater so I ordered this. When I first picked it up, I thought it was somehow different and kind of flimsy. When I used it, I found that potatoes were not grated at all. It must be done wrong. This will chafe them, but it is very difficult. You can move back and forth and almost nothing happens. Very disappointed.
