I loved everything about these blankets for my calves. Small calves need to be kept warm so they don't use up their fat stores and get sick. They keep the calves warm and healthy and don't let them burn fat, which is necessary in cold weather. I highly recommend them.

I really like the weight of this coat. I would describe it as a light to medium coat. It's great to have chills, but not very cold so you don't have to constantly remove and replace the blanket. Our calves live in these blankets, checking their weight from time to time, and these coats never rub. The Velcro remains sticky and is easy to clean. Great coat for the price.

I use these blankets for bottle calves under 2 weeks of age when they are most susceptible to illness, especially in the winter when temperatures drop below or near can freezing point. I live in Kentucky where temperatures are probably not as severe as in the Midwest. I don't have a lamp to keep her warm. I was a little concerned my calf would be too big but we are getting really cold and he has been sick since I got him and wanted to give him more warmth than just his little shelter, bedding and a heat lamp.
