Efficient and Stylish: 🔥 Betty Crocker BC-1664CB Toaster Oven, Black Review

Compact unit that doesn't take up much counter space. It takes forever to make toast, two slices at a time. Came with a missing leg pad. Still waiting for a replacement Betty Crocker pillow which is "in the mail". I will keep this product but will not order again.

The toaster does the job but there are a couple of things I want to point out before you go for it. I've noticed that after a week of use, the white paint is peeling off where the timer marks are. At some point in the future I might not be able to see how long I'm putting something in the toaster if I don't memorize the dials or I'm just really careful. No big deal, just a little disappointed. All in all a decent toaster for the money.

This is a very poor appliance. I've burned myself a few times. The tray needs to be on top and not slide along the rails, so it needs to be placed on a rack. The grooves on the frame do not lock the frame. So if you try to pull out the tray, the stand goes with it. The stand doesn't have 'legs' so it lays flat, there's no space underneath, meaning you can't safely wrap your arms around it to pick it up. You have to slide it off the edge of a door or counter to lift it up.

I mainly use to toast and reheat bread and rolls. The dials are difficult to read. If you put it on a toast whose pointer is hard to see, it'll keep moving to the left and you'll have to keep moving it to the right to make the toast. There is also a non-removable crumb tray. You have to turn the device on its back to clean it. Has anyone heard of a crumb tray that you can't remove to clean? I took a chance buying a toaster/oven that I am not familiar with and am very pleased. This Betty Crocker is smaller than my old Black & Decker model (which eventually broke after a few years of use) but perfect for my needs. This is really a very small block; smallest toaster I've seen in probably 20 years. Our other was MUCH larger. We could actually bake food in it, which is why we bought it so we didn't have to fire up our huge oven just to bake something small.
