Not the highest quality

I needed a shoe that would fit over my 3 year old son's leg brace. His doctor recommended this brand to me, so I went for it. Received the shoes and they have been great...so far. Yes, you read that right, they were great until the zipper broke after 2.5 months. I can see if my son has been running all over the place, but the guy doesn't walk like that (hence the leg brace). When I say broken, I mean the zipper's teeth began to bend and break until the real zipper separated from the stitching.

Pros
  • Designed with fun and playful blue shark patterns that kids will love.
Cons
  • Sneakers can make a clicking noise on hard floors, which can be annoying for some people.

Must have for a child with a prosthetic leg

I'm so happy I discovered Billy shoes. My son wears dentures and these are the only shoes that fit me. They are easy to put on and take off and wash well. If necessary, the inserts can also be removed. I had no problems with zippers and bought 2 pairs. You have a wide range of styles and colors to choose from. I'm just very happy that there is a company that serves people with differences.

Pros
  • Provides excellent protection for your child's feet and gives you the peace of mind that they are well protected while playing.
Cons
  • The product may cause abrasions or blisters due to inferior stitching or materials.

Order one size larger! Note the return policy

I bought it for an afos baby. disappointed shoes did not fit. Your normal sneakers are the same size and fit well. It was too late to return when Christmas came. so blah :(

Pros
  • Ideal for children who wear braces. So easy to put on and take off. In addition, it is very strong and durable.
Cons
  • Shoes often slip off, which can lead to trips and falls.

My thoughts in my review

We love the show. It's so cute and not too chunky, which is important to me. My only concern is that the shoe doesn't have as much "compliance" so I'm not sure how the zipper will hold up. I had a week and so far so good. We were able to find more on the site itself and hopefully it's not as annoying as my little iN KAFOs.

Pros
  • Great for my son who has a club foot and needs to wear braces.
Cons
  • The stings can be uncomfortable and irritate the skin.

Great fit and easy to slip on over the AFO

This is the lightest shoe I have ever worn on my daughter who has been wearing AFO for 4 years now. I simply measured as per the chart and chose the size closest to my measurements. Fits perfectly! Will definitely order more!

Pros
  • They go perfectly with my orthotics for girls.
Cons
  • The material does not let air through, which makes the feet sweat.

Broken zipper - my new review

At first they really liked it, but after 2.5 months the zipper broke. Got a refund and bought another pair and again the zippers broke after 2 months. I want to love them because they are so comfortable but unfortunately the quality is terrible. A $50 pair of shoes should last a lot longer.

Pros
  • They go perfectly with my son's SMO suspenders.
Cons
  • The shoes are not very flexible, which makes them uncomfortable when walking and running.

Well done, well designed. Perfect for my special needs child!

They are so well made and the zipper slides so easily. My 5 year old daughter doesn't speak but danced, twirled and jumped while wearing these shoes; so she loved her. Plus, she can do it herself. Another do-it-yourself skill! She has autism and loves sensory input, so shoes MUST be of good quality. And these are wonderful. Many thanks to Billy Footwear for this thoughtful and compassionate design. We will buy more! . PS: Don't be fooled by the fake versions at Target, WM, etc. They're cheapโ€ฆ

Pros
  • They fit perfectly with my daughter's orthopedic insoles. So easy to turn on and off. The best purchase I've made in a long time.
Cons
  • The product is not easy to clean, resulting in dirty and unsightly shoes.

Ideal for children with foot problems.

My little friend has hypotension and related mobility issues. These shoes were a godsend. Because they open fully around the toe, they're easy to slip on over orthotics (or just slip on over busy, restless feet). The higher profile provides some ankle support even when wearing them without orthopedic insoles and they have proven to be good, durable and withstand all the abuse a toddler puts their shoes through on a regular basis. We plan to evaluate them further in the coming years.

Pros
  • They are ideal for children who need to wear braces
Cons
  • Running shoes may not provide enough support for very active toddlers.

The first sneakers my daughter wears

My 3 year old lives in these shoes. From the color to the ease of dressing. I love the fact that I know her foot fits without feeling the toe. I will definitely be buying a few more!

Pros
  • I love these shoes for my son with AFO. It's so easy to put on and take off your shoes!
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for children with wider feet.

Great for SMO! - my new rating

I finally got cold feet and ordered them for my daughter. She is 16 months old and usually wears her SMOs in socks and barefoot around the house as she hardly goes anywhere. When she wears shoes, she either doesn't wear a tuxedo or she wears low-cut Converse, which look good. I saw this design and thought it was cute and will try it. They are beautiful, especially on the eve of winter.

Pros
  • The soft textile lining ensures optimal comfort for your child's feet, no matter how long they wear them.
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for children who require loose socks.

Ideal for SMO braces!

My son wears these shoes with his SMO suspenders and we went up a size to match the suspenders. You are perfect! He's a size 7 but usually wears a size 6. Love the whole zipper construction, it's easy to get on and off.

Pros
  • I liked the shoes but I had to order a different size!
Cons
  • The product may cause blistering or irritation due to poorly designed seams.

Great for little ones with braces

My son has braces for walking. These shoes matched his suspenders perfectly. His braces last much longer. The zipper makes the morning smoother. IV bought 4 pairs of these.

Pros
  • Ideal
Cons
  • The product may be too tight for children's feet.

The daughter was so enthusiastic that we were all disappointed

I loved these shoes because it is difficult to fit our daughter's AFO into regular shoes (she is 3 years old and has bilateral clubfoot). But when we received them, we realized that they don't match AFO at all. They were barely wide enough to fit in, and then when we tried to fold the flap down to close it, it didn't reach far enough. It seems the AFO ankle strap made it too thick. We couldn't close it due to the 2-3 inch gap between the sides of the zipper. I was so excited about her and thenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Works little. Getting taller, especially if you use them with orthotics or SMOs. So far there have been no problems with breaking zippers or toe sections.
Cons
  • The cushioning of the insole is not enough for some users.

Fantastic shoes for kids with thick feet

Love don't have to worry about being too small: the zipper around the toes can see if the toes are at the end of the shoe before hurting your feet!

Pros
  • I love shoes that get bigger
Cons
  • The sneakers are heavy and bulky, making them difficult for small children to carry.

Perfect fit for my son!

These shoes were recommended by my son's physical therapist to wear with orthotics and they fit perfectly! They're so easy to put on and take off, and its orthopedic insoles fit like a glove on the inside. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • One sip!
Cons
  • These shoes are great for orthotics but the zipper broke after a few months.

Ideal for braces - my new test report

Our son has suspenders up to his ankles. We ordered a size up and had to take out the insoles because of his wide feet, but I don't think we should have ordered a size up. We just let him grow into her! It's perfect when they close so I don't have to put his feet in any shoes while he's wearing them!

Pros
  • We love these shoes for my daughter. Easy to put on and take off.
Cons
  • My son wears a size 10 shoes and I had to go down to a size 12 to fit my son.

My wonderful review

I got these for my special needs son who wears AFO and they are our favorites! Thank you for these shoes! Super stylish and works wonders. My son likes to wear them. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • They are perfect for my son who has leg braces! So easy to put on and take off these shoes!!
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for children with allergies to certain materials.

Not my final judgement

My daughter is unable to walk due to overstretching and needs to SMO so Billy's shoes are a must for braces but as she still needs to crawl (after a month of use) the top center zippers are already torn from the fabric on both shoes . This is disappointing as it seems this shoe is mainly used for this type of stuff. I expected more durability. Bad quality for such a high price.

Pros
  • Offering exceptional value for money, offering excellent quality and durability at an affordable price.
Cons
  • Sneakers can cause discomfort or irritation in some children due to the design and construction of the shoes.

you are very smart

My grandson's first pair and I can honestly say we love them, we love how the sole can come out and how stretchy they are and I love their color.

Pros
  • Ideal for children who wear AFO. Easy to slip on and stay buttoned up all day. LOVE HER!!!
Cons
  • The material is not waterproof or waterproof, making them unsuitable for rainy weather.

So cute and works great with an elevator

I really like these shoes they are perfect for my daughter's day brace but the other shoe is a bit big for her other foot I hope she grows into one and the other still fits her brace leg but very cute and so easy to put on and shoot. You may need to buy two different sizes, but these are great shoes for children who were born with clubfoot/feet and need to wear an orthotic during the day.

Pros
  • Perfect fit and my son's braces fit in very well!
Cons
  • The tongue may be too short, causing discomfort when walking or running.
