It was a replacement for an existing antenna and the reception and especially the transmission performance has deteriorated considerably. I will most likely return it this week.

The antenna is excellent. Receives a clean signal with virtually no problems. The tip is not properly grounded and the connection is unstable. Test with an ohmmeter, the cable does not work. The antenna is fantastic and well worth the low price, but it's better to get a lip mount elsewhere.

The antenna mount was easy to install on my 4Runner. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that the solder joint for the NMO mount was left open. It would be very easy for them to add some silicone or whatever to make that connection waterproof.

The SWR is greater than 2 but below 3 over most of the 136-174MHz band and does not change from 400-480MHz. I tested a known good coax line to determine if it was coax, with the same answer. The coax cable is fine (there is no sealant on the NMO mount though) and the mount is solid. I'll try and rest for a few more days; I will consider using it to only receive at lower frequencies due to the cost available. The lag value in my images is compensated by the adapter I use.

I had a small signal issue communicating with other people while trail riding - signal drop out. I needed an external antenna, but I didn't need a very tall pole so the car could easily get in and out of the garage door. That's perfect and now we're getting a pretty good range.
