Waiting for field test

It's about to get a star I haven't been able to test it and it looks like it's a fake one of the other antenna types. We'll see, update the review once I can take a look

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Almost never

Don't buy if you want to keep it folded!

I used this antenna on a railway, the reception was slightly better at a distance! I couldn't keep it on my laptop so I left it folded in my bag and took it out last week and noticed the antenna was broken, it's not meant to work on a railway! A bit disappointed!

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • With problems

Significantly improved

I couldn't leave my apartment with my UV-82X's standard antenna or high-quality dual-band wand. Put this thing on and I get complete low power silence. It's long, but you knew what was in it. Seems a little fragile, not recommended for use where it can be dragged.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Available in black only

Baofeng UV-5R on radio antennas

Baofeng UV-5R works fine, does not screw flush into the radio, I am in the desert all the time and find the lack of flushing that allows dirt particles to get into the antenna connector. I hope I can find one that is smooth. I'm not sure if it extended the range, but FM stations sound clearer.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Few little things

Baofeng UV-5R is good for antennas

Works well on Baofeng UV-5R, the only thing is that it doesn't stick flush with the walkie-talkie, I'm constantly walking in the desert and I believe that dirt particles can get into the antenna connection due to the lack of flushing. I hope I can find one that is smooth. I'm not sure if it extended the range, but FM stations sound clearer.

My 15 " antenna consistently gives better reception

So you want to own a ham radio on a budget? Baofeng is the only acceptable cheap thing to buy. This antenna looked solid, seemed very similar to other antennas, but it's absolute rubbish. My 15" TIDRADIO antenna works better when it's folded or fully extended, and it comes with a $168 Baofeng budget kit I found here. 5 x 8 watt radios and 5 x 15" antennas with USB programming key (am just a beginner). Invest in your gear, if you want it to work I'll send it back.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Security
