Very disappointed. - Cutlery & Knife Accessories

I wasn't overly thrilled after watching Paul Block's videos of how 'sharp' this sharpener would make your blade. Bought, tried on several blades. Pointed knives, serrated knives, chef's knives and even a katana. None of them look sharper. I even tried the "journaled" test like he usually does in his demos, but it doesn't cut clean at all. Very disappointed.

  • Well made

Dissatisfied Possible defect

The reason I bought it is because I saw a video on the internet, it looks like a great product, nothing but good reviews, looks very easy to watch operate looks and works great this one i don't work something like the ones i've seen on tv maybe i have a broken unit not sure but i'm definitely not happy with the product but i am definitely not happy with the product And just throw it out there I know how to sharpen knives, usually use whetstones and get good results so I couldn't wait to tryโ€ฆ

The best and fastest knife sharpener!

I bought a similar model at a gun fair many years ago. It has finally seen better days and I was very excited to find this on Revain. The one I have works even better than the old one. It is very heavy and has a rubber grip to prevent slipping. I am an avid home cook and have a 13 year old set of kitchen knives. This makes them so perfectly sharp that if I accidentally touch one of them with my hand it creates a razor-like cut on the skin. I also use it for all my kitchen shears. Sharpening isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Not just usable for the intended purpose

  • Annoying

DO NOT BUY. NO HONOR GUARANTEED. DON'T LOSE MONEY. BREAKING

(((WARNING, DO NOT BUY)))) (((WARNING, DO NOT BUY)))) )) ( ( (WARNING, DO NOT BUY)))) (((WARNING, DO NOT BUY)))) The product is defective and cannot be replaced. Don't follow it (*quote "LIFETIME WARRANTY BECAUSE IT'S MY NAME ON THIS *without the quotes). Falling apart shortly after use and I've been told they don't have to live up to their own warranty as I bought them from Revain. Revain was very interested in this announcement, let me tell you. Since this is a small company that sells gunsโ€ฆ

Honer not a Sharpener

I can only give this product three (3) stars. I watched a YouTube video that looked amazing. But when I looked again, I noticed that the seller (Mr. Block) didn't show us the sword or knife before it went through his device, only after. My guess is that the blades had fairly good edges before going through the "sharpener". I can only blame my naivety for not realizing this sooner. My experience with this rather expensive product was disappointing. If you have a carbon steel blade with a goodโ€ฆ

Buy now good for cutlery and knife accessories

I've been looking for a knife sharpener for a long time and have always held back for various reasons, price, bad rating, where the product comes from, size etc. Then I watched the block sharpener video and most of my problems were or seemed to be solved, so I took a chance. I have been rewarded. This nifty little device is everything I wanted, made in America, well tested, simple, inexpensive, compact and most importantly, efficient. It takes a little time to really master the skills, but ifโ€ฆ

Only use it for knives where appearance is not important to you.

Something so simple needs to be learned. You can see that in the one star ratings. A five-star reviewer mentions slight strokes. So I left scratches on my knife and didn't hit the edge. I got reasonably good results with more pressure, but the damage (admittedly minor) was already done. I don't rule out spending the money on a new knife, although it's not really necessary because so far I've avoided damaging or scratching it. I can try it on old knives, I don't care because it works if you doโ€ฆ
