Not worth it - expensive and breaks easily

Already broken. Our plain $20 Bodum jar filling lasted much longer. Got this as a present for my husband for his birthday after our main bodum collapsed. I bought this one at a higher price hoping it wouldn't break anytime soon! Huge mistake. I really liked it and am very disappointed with how quickly it broke. Always hand wash only. And we are very careful! Very upset. Only used about a month.

Pros
  • Easy to grip and comfortable to hold thanks to the smoothly curved handle.
Cons

Very long drawdown.

I like the server pot very much. This is the main reason I bought it, but I had issues with the dripper. If you're using a paper filter like I am, the residence time is six minutes, which is far too long for a 20-ounce coffee. Then I noticed four tiny holes in the dripper through which water flows. The holes are about 1/16 inch which I think is too small. So I bored them out to 1/8 inch. Now it works much better. Hope this is helpful.

Pros
  • Stainless Steel Permanent Filter - No more buying paper filters.

Use cone filter #4

Nice and works great. Many coffee maker reviews, including one about this elsewhere, give bad reviews, saying the coffee is too weak and/or ground. The problem is paperless filters. Their openings are too big, the water flows too fast and brings some soil with it. Throw this part away. With a paper filter, these problems disappear. In fact, it also holds over 20 ounces, and that may be why some people think the coffee is too weak. We love ours. We can see everything. There are no places for…

Pros
  • . Hot water is slowly and evenly distributed over the ground coffee, helping to develop a rich flavor and strong aroma.
Cons
  • A few little things
