ATTENTION! An accident is inevitable!

I have used a Bodum French Press for many years. I bought this for camping. Technically it works perfectly. The problem is that the plastic handle/frame doesn't hold the carafe tight enough. This way the entire carafe will slide out when you pour coffee unless you always make sure to hold the lid tight when pouring. I do not recommend this item. Spend a little more money and get a metal handle/cage model.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Everything ok

Loose design makes it inefficient

I've liked Bodum products for a long time. I have 2 French presses that have been amazing and very reliable. However, after owning this Bodum Java French Press for just a few weeks, I found that the glass and plastic parts simply separate, making brewing coffee almost impossible. Now the glass will detach (and certainly fall) if I don't hold it with my fingers (and thus surely burn). upset

Pros
  • Sequined
Cons
  • Modern

Design error, safety risk!

I have three Bodum Brasil French presses, I use them in the office and at home and I love them all. I wanted to try this version of Java for aesthetic reasons, but to my disappointment I noticed that the glass carafe can easily slip out of the handle/holder when I'm pouring coffee. Tightening the retainer screw at the top doesn't change anything. I should have listened to the other reviewers before getting this... Anyway, I'll be returning it and ordering the Brazilian version instead.

  • Durable Test Results

Glass Carafe Pops Out of Thin Plastic Bracket/Handle

This is a very thin French Press, the glass carafe just pops out when pouring coffee or turning the maker upside down. The outer construction is plastic and doesn't hold the carafe in place, which is risky considering you have a carafe full of hot coffee. There is no way to further tighten the screw at the top of the handle. I've been buying personal care products for 25 years and this is the first time I've been dissatisfied with them. One wonders if the article is original.

  • Easy Install

Goodbye Bodom. in the kitchen and dining room

Another company that decided to chase the pennies and destroy their brand. I haven't had a French press for a long time, so when I wanted a new one I naturally thought of Bodum. When I ordered this product I assumed the black case was black metal because what else did Bodum use? no Unfortunately, it's cheap plastic that allows it to roll off the assembly line, which is evident in its poor construction. Without a carafe, it falls over by itself and feels like a moderately successful 3D printed…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Discontinued

Avoid and buy chrome

The plastic parts and their many flaws make this purchase pointless when the Bodum chrome version is only around $10. more.- In the first few months of normal use, the plastic leg broke at the pressure point, causing stability and safety issues for the decanter - The plastic housing of the filter screw eventually failed and the plunger pierced the bottom, leaving the filter in the middle of the carafe. Still holds up most of the time, but a grind that's too fine creates enough pressure to…

Pros
  • I have my fingers crossed
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

Poor quality, especially for Bodum. Came back and can't recommend

I bought a Bodum French Press at a flea market a few years ago and it has worked great. It was a standard rubber/plastic French press + glass tumbler, nothing special. The filter worked well, never clogged and was easy to clean and use. Unfortunately I threw it off the shelf and it broke. No wonder and it was my fault. I ordered this machine but the difference in quality between this and my previous French Press was day and night. First, the glass doesn't sit tight in the mount. When trying to…

  • This is amazing
