Do not buy! I bought two sets of these and after the first use they are useless. The latch assembly is very cheap, broke the first time I opened it and I had to keep the lock and key locked to keep them closed or they would spring open. do yourself a favor and buy something else!

is a great cost effective alternative to the more well known branded ski/snowboard carriers. The plastic mounting brackets are strong, easy to install, and lock the rack securely in place without moving. The soft rubber parts are easy to grip and keep everything you carry secure. Rack, difficult to slide in and out.

Product looks great, looks very neat. Mounted on regular crossbars on Subaru Forester 2007, carried 2 sets of skis and 1 snowboard. No wind noise (whistle) to be heard when loading or when the shelves are empty. The lock and key assembly can be upgraded. You have to put the key in the lock cylinder and remove it, but it works. Overall I love these shelves and will continue to use them.

The bolts protrude from the underside of the brackets sufficiently to attach the brackets to the car's cross members. I have a rav4, the cross braces are original. I had to cut 4 screws about half an inch to install them. I have an angle grinder. However, the bolts were so close to the car roof that they peeled the paint off the car after driving. Seriously, this is such a rookie mistake in terms of design.

Works on crossbars I bought from Revain a few years ago. Used this ski rack twice on 2 1300 mile rides. Get stuck on highways and mountain roads. Good price. The only complaint is that they lock, but you can still remove both racks by loosening the thumbscrews that attach them to the roof rack crossbars.
