Description of Bookshelf speaker system Tannoy Reveal 502 black

Reveal 502 active studio monitor with 75 watts of power and bi-amplification. 25W drive a 1" silk dome tweeter, 50W drive a 5" woofer. For a 5" studio monitor, the Reveal 502 is fairly compact. The eye-catching feature is the exposed front-panel tweeter and bass port, and the usual power and volume control LEDs are gone, all of which we''ll find on the rear panel. Now let''s look at the back panel. There are standard XLR and TRS balanced connectors, RCA is not, but you can get it through an adapter in TRS. Further, there is a 3.5mm AUX input and output, and you can directly connect audio sources such as MP3 players or smartphones. Through the output, you can connect a second monitor and thanks to the switch you can divide the signal between left and right. To control the sound, a volume control and a slide switch are available, which has three positions -1.5 dB / neutral / +1.5 dB. And as a result, an on / off switch and a blue LED. As for the sound, the high frequencies are very very clean, clear and detailed, the mid frequencies are of the same level, but with less presence, but the low frequencies can be pleasantly surprised. For a 5-inch monitor, the bass here is quite deep, even the bass guitar can be heard in full spectrum. In addition, the Reveal 502 has a fairly wide sweet spot, so you can easily move around your workspace without losing stereo imaging. Specifications: Frequency response: 49 Hz - 43 kHz SPL: 108 dB Woofer: 5" (130 mm) Tweeter: 1" (25 mm) soft dome Power: 75 W (LF 50 W, HF 25 W) THD: less than 0 .7%Inputs: Balanced: XLR, 20 kΩ Unbalanced: 1/4" jack, 10 kΩ AUX: 3.5 mm mini jack, 10 kΩ AUX output: mini jack HF EQ: -1.5 dB/neutral/+1.5 dB Crossover frequency : 2.3 kHz Dispersion: 90 degrees Controls: power, volume, equalizer, L / R monitor selection Bass port on the front panel Housing: MDF Power supply: 100-120 and 220 - 240V, switchable, 50-60 Hz Consumption: 120 W maximum 238 mm

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

Chic, shine, fire, madness and delight! . Even on such a coffee table (pictured) they sound like zhezhoba. And if they sound like this in this position both without a sound card and on AUX, then I'm afraid to imagine what will happen to the sound card and in its place, I will experience this very soon.

Pros
  • I had experience working not on a large number of monitors, but on M-audio 4 inch monitors, which can hardly be called Adam A7 monitors, and I can say for sure that thin speakers opened up a lasting new world of sound. I began to understand where the instruments and the voice were in the mix. I am completely satisfied with their sound for the money, it is worthy. I didn’t hear any specific noise in the monitors, just so that nothing would make noise, fart and whistle, first, sort out the electricity in the room. And there is nothing to twist folk or how I shove through AUX. For the money, these are great monitors and you won't hear any noise in the mix.
Cons
  • Not seen

It was a reasonable purchase, I will order more.

I used the SVEN 2.1 multimedia system, which I took in 2022. I began to feel a serious lack of sound control. It felt like I was listening to two big phones. When switching from the SVEN 2.1 system, I did not feel a huge difference between a multimedia system system for 3k and monitors for 25k. After listening and adjusting my hearing, with the Tannoy Reveal 502, I switched back to a 2.1 system and, to put it mildly. surprised. The sound was close to the radio effect, I did not hear any…

Pros
  • Good sound quality for the price, couldn't find cheaper. Be sure to separate them from the table, put them on stands, or on special supports. I put them on the old satellites from the 2.1 system. Standing on the table (chipboard), they resonate strongly, give the effect of a subwoofer (Both good and bad. If there is not enough subwoofer, put it on the table). It is necessary to put it at the level of large speakers in the center with ears horizontally. Therefore, the arrangement on the table does not make sense, unless, of course, you are sitting on the courts. Otherwise, you will not have proper sound control in terms of depth, stereo, frequencies and balance.
Cons
  • Noises from the speakers on both speakers when idle. When the speakers warmed up, the noise became the same. Noise is similar to analog. They cease to be heard from 1.5-2 meters completely. In no way does this interfere with listening to music, because. it is not readable, and I did not take the monitors so that they stand. Yes, during operation, the noise does not interfere and we do not hear.

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

These are my first monitors, so there is not much to compare with. I took these speakers for writing music, listening to music, movies, games. First impressions - fire! There is so much dope in them that I thought the neighbors would come running now)! And it played only one column purely from the sound card of the laptop. I understand that in order for them to “open up”, a sound card is completely needed + somehow competently equip the room. I see great potential in them! About the level of

Pros
  • They look very reliable. Well packed. Powerful! There is a feeling that you are holding a premium item in your hands.
