Years ago when I was a kid (now 80!) I used 20 Mule Team Borax. Didn't know they could still do it. When I saw it, I bought it and was completely satisfied with the result. Not only does it soften the water, it also makes my white clothes whiter. Haven't used it for any other purpose. I'm just happy to have rediscovered 20 Mule Team Borax in my old age!

I use it in summer to keep ants away from my patio and home. I just spray a light to medium line around the perimeter where I don't need it. Works great to keep them away and let them look for food elsewhere. Preferably the poison I prepared for her. If you didn't sleep with the screaming, burning, itchy welts of fire ants night after night, you'd be poisoning them too. Please no hate mail.😵
