🚗 Borla S-Type 40842S Performance Muffler Review

I have a 2008 Silverado 5.3 (all series except K&N Aspirated) if you have this truck it's a good rumble. just what i wanted it's not loud but it's noticeable at idle and at high speeds but if you step on it boy let me tell you you know there's something about this truck. Take this or ATAK, that's why you want to buy an aftermarket exhaust.

Wow. What an addition to my copropak. I wanted to return the whole cat, but my car is actually brand new. I just went with these Borla type mufflers and wow. It changed the way the beast sounds. Now the sound is more like the sound of a muscle car. Definitely a great buy. Not sure if it's about mileage or even fuel savings. Who cares if your opponent sounds awesome.

Installed a Borla exhaust with Magnaflow X-pipe on my 2015 Challenger R/T. I was looking for great sound without the annoying hum and hiss in the cabin. Under normal driving conditions, the noise level increases only slightly from the factory, but wow how it sings when you step on the accelerator. I thought the Atak series might have been too loud, but to reiterate, I would choose Atak.

Video before and after. I love Bora. Just installed on my 2006 Mark LT 5.4. I removed 2 cats and left 2 cats in place. Produces a fantastic deep growl that isn't annoying at idle. You can hear it in the cockpit when accelerating. Sounds good to me, my wife, who is sensitive to awesomeness, doesn't mind. In travel mode, NO DRONE AT ALL. I am very comfortable. It turned my "refined" Lincoln into an evil gentleman's truck. Highly recommended.

I fitted them as resonators on my 06 GTO with the cat-back Corsa Sport. I am very happy. The Sport was too loud for me and not the tone I was looking for, but I liked that it didn't have a hum so I didn't want to change it. I added a Corsa Touring resonator behind the X-Pipe which brought the volume down to a reasonable level but didn't produce the rumbling tone I was looking for. I ordered this and installed it on a 2005 Ford F150 5.4 truck. I was very impressed with the exhaust sound and rumble. I'll admit that initially I had a small drone in the cockpit, but it just comes down to the right setup and location to get rid of that. In terms of sound and durability, it's on par with any other muffler I've heard on the v8. Not too loud, but enough to get everyone's attention when you step on the gas pedal. Not as loud as I had hoped. The sound is pleasant, I just hoped it would be louder. I suspect if I had a cat back system it would be louder because it removes the resonators. I think I can always try removing them, but I'm afraid it will change the sound. I like the sound, just wish it was louder. Hopefully it will increase over time. So this muffler turned my 2017 Ford Focus SEL hatchback from a food eater to a beast! Even when starting from cold, the car has a loud, deep hum, even just when idling. Good quality. Real stainless steel, unlike most cheap or counterfeit Chinese-made exhaust system components. The sound is an impressive throaty growl.
