Making an evening herbal cocktail with some loose herbs. This shaker (with small stainless steel balls) is great. Easy to use, easy cleaning. No mess! The fit between the two shakers is incredible. I first looked for "shake cups" that are sold for protein drinks, but most of them are plastic and don't last that long. The price is competitive compared to 2 cocktail tumblers and it is made of stainless steel.

Don't put a pint in a Boston shaker like the bartenders do. I bought this along with 12 packs of 1 liter glasses and after washing tried shaking some ice cubes between a large metal shaker and a 1 liter glass. The beer glass is so incredibly stuck that the only way to get it out is to break it. However, using a small metal tumbler works great and I like to use it to shake and serve in my 11 pint glasses.

I have a regular shaker but I really like this set - you can put the cups together to shake but it's also good for just easy pouring cocktails between cups to to mix them. I think this set will do for the occasional bartender, but as a professional bartender I found the ergonomics of this set to be quite disappointing. The smaller jar sits quite deep in the larger one, making it difficult for those with smaller hands to keep a firm cap when shaking. Reinforce it by doing it hundreds of times a night and I kind of want to punch someone. Yet again. I think for occasional use that's probably more than enough, but for high volumes it's tricky.

Excellent shaker set. They appear and feel well made and they get the job done. My only complaint is that the jigger only measures 1 oz and 1/2 oz without graduation, meaning you may need a different tool to measure smaller volumes. Be careful though - all shaking ice cans create an airtight seal, which is essential for stirring up the liquids inside. After shaking the cocktail, it can be difficult to disassemble the cans.
