I had to drill quarter inch holes in the frame of the panels as the factory slots were too large for the washers that came with the brackets. We recommend purchasing 4 1/4 x 1/2 washers if using a Coleman plate.

Surprisingly I'm the only one mentioning this but I had to drill and widen the mounting holes on these brackets to fit my BougeRV solar panel. You would think they would fit like gloves! Not a difficult process, but a bit of an oddity nonetheless.

I bought a 180 watt solar panel for my RV. The 4 factory Z-clamps were light and didn't inspire confidence. These brackets are heavier and have 2 mounting holes per bracket leg for a more secure roof mount. Also, the panel has mounting holes for 6 brackets, so my installation will improve a lot with this update.

I liked that I could attach them to the sides of the solar panel and then just screw them to the roof. They hold the panel high enough for me to install on a metal roof and clean out the ledges. I have yet to use the solar panel where I could use the long screws that come with the kit to attach the bracket to the panel (hence the 4 stars) - I used some small short sheet metal screws I already had.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the 2 mounting holes are 3 1/4" apart. fastens 3 1/2" wide. On both sides There is only an eighth of an inch left of the mounting screws to attach to the skin strips, so the only way to use these mounts was to drill another hole between the two existing holes to ensure that each of the two mounting screws seated securely in the strips of skin underneath.

I have used these on my 100w 12v Renogy panels for mounting on a curved RV roof. They line up at pre-made holes. I used blue thread lock on the screws holding the plate mounts. I also replaced the included screws; They came with 1.5 inch tapping screws. That's too long for an RV roof, also self-tapping screws aren't recommended for wood (they'll cut the tree you're trying to fall into). So I replaced 3/4 stainless steel screws (not self-drilling). The screws are designed so you can drill your own pilot hole. Unfortunately, the hole to be drilled is larger than the screw itself (i.e. larger thread diameter). As a result, the screw spins uselessly in the hole it drilled. I had to buy proper screws to make the brackets useful. Also, there are only two screw holes in each bracket.
