Description of Brause Calligraphy Writing Nibs Variety Set: Explore 6 Expert Nibs for Flawless Penmanship

The Brause brand is synonymous with quality. Discover this box containing 6 nibs (Cito Fein, Sténo, Pfannen, Ecolière, Rose and Index), 1 pen holder and instructions. Reissue of an old model, absolutely similar to the famous "Sergeant-Major", the "School child" nib is simple, thin and flexible. It is perfect for writing, drawing and calligraphy (The art of forming writing characters well). The Steno nib is a sharp and indented nib in blued steel, the flexibility of which is ideal for English (fine writing, tied and round traditionally inclined, from England). The Rose nib is a hard steel nib with a rose engraved on the top (hence the name). It is suitable for script writing (the letters are detached and resemble those in books). It offers impressive flexibility for thick and powerful fillings. The Cito fein nib is an excellent beginner writing nib, very soft. It is suitable for cursive writing (the letters are attached and form loops) or script.

Does not work with calligraphy pens

I don't understand, the pen does not drip ink. I dip the ink and try to write but it just stays in the reservoir. I've tried multiple pressures and angles with no luck. Am I doing something wrong? I read vague instructions and they didn't help. :/

Excellent nib set for calligraphy

Fantastic quality nibs. The blue pumpkin is great, but the index fingertip is my favorite for writing - it holds an incredible amount of ink. This is a great set for those trying to get back into calligraphy after a few years (like me). For fun, I paired these nibs with a Manuscript Pen tin holder.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Ribbon

Goodbye Speedball! the best stuff for writing and correcting

OH MY YES! I'm new to calligraphy and still learning everything. I started with the speedball dive grip and I really had a lot of problems. too wet, too dry, paper scratches, etc. I started the glowing O with my speedball. When the Brause nibs came out today, I really wanted to test them. The difference between day and night! Shower springs are flexible, pliable and precise. They hold a ton of ink but never fall off. Wonderful! Includes photos from my project. Do you see the red guber in the…

  • Good product for its price

  • Vanish

Like all pens, clean them and give them a little treatment before going into town Random set, I've been looking for a writing pen for years that I love and love the variety this set offers. I've paired it with an Alpha Pens slanted pen holder and it works well except for one that wobbles a bit. I think my two favorites are the blue steel and pointer. They make sense and offer just enough width variation to make the lines interesting. There were also duplicates of some of them in my set. I think

Great for line art! Buy a separate tip holder

I really like these tips. I bought it because Yuko Shimizu recommended it and I want to make my work more professional. Okay, I tried all the springs carefully and I like the blue steel best (see photo). It holds the ink very well and gives me the lines I want. All of the nibs I tried were pretty good with smooth, unbroken lines. Poor ejection of the pen holder. I read reviews that the pen holder was bad so I bought another one separately. You'll notice in my photo that the holder on the left…
