This is an updated version of the filter. The mesh screen has been eliminated along with the foam pre-filter. It's just a matter of reducing production costs and adding a little more filter material. This is the filter on all new B&S engines. New engines do not have a foam filter. Relax!

They may well work, the Craftsman yt3000 21hp B&S has a compartment that houses the filter so the smaller unit won't necessarily come loose but again may. B&S 793569 is specially designed for the semi-lock that resists separation and excessive movement by moving the collection area within the compartment.
