The bristles are almost regular, not too hard and not too soft. The handle is quite long, but longer would be better. If you're small, this will probably fit the bill. The only thing that could improve this scrubber is a larger diameter and a more non-slip grip. We have soft water and the soap on my hands makes it difficult to hold on. It's not that important, but it's worth mentioning.

I've searched several sites for a long handle and brush and can't find it. I bought one that wasn't curved but was 17 inches and had two sides, a brush and a washcloth, it's useless. Finally found this one and absolutely loved it. The brush is firm but not too hard. The handle is long and curved so it reaches the entire back. I am 6 feet tall. The brush shape works very well. I finally have my favorite brush!

I love my new shower brush that moves sideways instead of lengthways. Corresponds to the way your hand works across your back. Soft bristles ensure a good soapy wash. -- but soapy hands are a problem! There are no protrusions or bulges on the handle and it easily slips out of your hands! Correction? Fusion Grip Tape, adhesive-free silicone tape. The tighter you wrap it, the better it will hold! Simple easy solution. I gave it four stars for the slippery grip, but that's an easy fix.

I ordered this brush because it has the longest handle I could find, but if like me you are over 6 feet tall or have limited mobility you might find it appealing still short. If you're under it, it should be fine. The handle is lightly textured to offer a non-slip grip and I find the bristles a bit stiff and a little scratchy, but you prefer that kind of scrubbing action. Some users say that the shower gel doesn't stay on the brush, but I lather my hands first and then apply it to the brush…

Benefits: Durable and long handle, curved enough to reach the entire back. Cons: The handle is plastic with a slight texture but still difficult to handle. The bristles are stiff enough to be flaked off, but annoying if you don't care. The bristles don't dry overnight and are so short they don't pick up much soap, so re-lathering is necessary. A loofah head is much more comfortable.

A brush with softer bristles is great. Some people say these bristles are too soft but I think they are spot on. I wish I had chosen that first; Instead I first bought a boar bristle brush and after one use in the shower it smells so bad! I can't bring myself to put this thing back on my body. The boar bristles also seem a bit too prickly, but I would put up with that if it didn't stink so horribly. If you are looking for a long handled back brush then this is it. But trust me: buy soft (white)

Updated 11/21/2020 - added a photo of the brush next to another extra long brush for comparison. she is getting older and can no longer reach behind. Your old one was a standard sized short brush, it was no longer useful. I ordered this and a slightly longer one hoping that one or both would do the trick. luckily it worked out very well for her. it's easy to grasp. Medium soft bristles. no quality control defects at all. Most importantly, she can now get to places she couldn't with the old one.

Positive moment: The curved shape of the handle expands the scope of this brush. Mixed (slightly negative/slightly positive): This brush is a one-off. That is, the brush head and handle are one piece. This is good because it prevents the brush from falling off the handle at the wrong time. This isn't great for those who want to be able to detach the brush from the handle for washing hands, hands etc where the handle makes the task uncomfortable.
