Maybe I'm an idiot, but the lid that is lifted to pour water is something I can relate to use a butter knife to open the lid. I don't know if I'm defective or if the design is defective or if this particular cap is defective.

Our previous house had a well and we had a whole house water purification system at the front end and a reverse osmosis system for drinking water. We loved the water. We have now moved to an area with city water and don't like the taste as it tasted metallic (probably due to the iron content). We've been buying bottled water for a year and it's getting expensive so we bought one of these. It does a great job of making the water taste as good as bottled spring water.
