I was originally going to return it as it was sent to me and the product box itself said 'rear clip won't move'. I don't understand why they sent him if he didn't move. I ended up saying F and messing up the back clip which got stuck. A few minutes later I took it off and installed it on my car. Works perfectly.

It provides an ultra wide view but minimizes the actual cars behind you. Sometimes during the day I couldn't tell if there were cars behind me, especially if they were gray or light blue. The blue tint seems to help a little against glare at night but the difference is probably negligible. Most likely, this is for more aesthetic purposes. The convex curvature of the mirror helps a bit too, giving you an extra 1-2 degrees of field of view.
