A motor has entered one of our bathroom exhaust fans. It used to make a loud rattle, then just buzzed when turned on. Instead of replacing the entire fan, I vacuumed it up and installed a new motor. Works like new and only took about 30 minutes.

It only took a few minutes to remove and replace the motor. It literally sticks into the frame of the vent. Maybe a little louder than the original, but that's not a problem. Works great, will buy more if needed. It was much easier than replacing the entire ventilation system without wiring, cutting or repairing the ceiling.

much harder work (thicker core) than the original block. Unfortunately the shaft was about 3/4" too short so I had to use the shaft from the old motor which luckily fitted. There were many problems as the shaft had to be inserted directly into the armature in order to fit into the motor fit, and the shims had to be repositioned for proper play or it wouldn't rotate.And then the one sided plug was rotated 180 degrees so it conflicted with the plug next to it so the blade had to be cut to get it…
