To replace another that has worked fine for several years

Received the same opener as a gift a few years ago. It wears out after long-term use. Decided to buy the same instead of a similar knife for a few dollars less because I was happy with the first knife.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • A small change

The best at all! - Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

This is the best invention ever made for wine lovers! I've had one for a few years and bought it for my sister who hasn't opened her own wine in years due to a physical issue with her wrist. Yesterday she opened her own wine for the first time!

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Hard to say

Doesn't work.: Kitchen appliances and gadgets

Defect. I opened the box, put in 4 batteries and tried to open the bottle but it had almost no power when I pressed the bottom button. The top button worked fine. So I tried replacing the batteries with new batteries but the result was the same. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • So far everything is fine
Cons
  • Negative impression

A must for every family

Received as a gift and have since bought for several people. It's very easy to use and works like a charm every time. Tip: When you open the bottle and press the button down, keep it in downward mode until it stops. The only flaw I see in people is not holding it long enough for the cork to pop out. This is not a fault in the product's design or operation, but rather a fault of the person using it. I also like the foil cutter.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Keep the button pressed and it goes through the foil*, sinks into the cork, lifts the cork out of the bottle. Press the button again and the cork will fall down, making it easy for you to pick it up and throw it away. Very easy. * Husband doesn't think it's meant to go through foil and thinks I might be overusing it if I do. Instead, he recommends using the included foil cutter. He may be right, but my way works too. I think it depends if you are a pragmatic person or someone who likes to walk…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Reliability

That does not work! to Bar & Wine Tools

I had COVID and finally got out of quarantine last week - I got this as a gift from my wife and due to COVID I've only been able to try it now. The packaging was fine and it looked like a brand new corkscrew --- but alas --- the damn thing only pulls the cork out halfway (tried it on 3 bottles and all the results were the same) --- I had to use it a manual corkscrew to pop the cork out of each bottle, as the opener only pulled the cork halfway out of each bottle. I would have returned sooner…

Pros
  • understandable even for old people
Cons
  • vulgarity

Stopped working in kitchen and dining room

Thought it would be a good buy. Lots of good reviews but we know how they spread online; Your review is purchased and paid for. Sigh. The item has basically worked for six (6) months. From the seventh (7th) month there were problems with the corkscrew in traffic jams. Finally, after several battery changes [they are good batteries], the corkscrew no longer works on the road at all. So now it's just garbage. :-(I contacted Brookstone to see if they had a warranty and they said it was up to…

Broke within 1 month of use

This product showed great promise with its sleek design and easy wireless connection. However, within 1 month of use (about 12 bottles opened), the screw mechanism did not "drill" the cork all the way to the bottom. This left the mechanism and the screwing of the cork with no way of removing the cork or carefully removing the screwing mechanism. He broke three bottle caps in a row and we had to manually pick the chewed corks out of the bottles and filter our wine. Very disappointing. My return…
