Walled in after a year of use

Beware if you only read reviews posted months after purchase! I was also satisfied with this printer until I walled it in a year later. It worked with the basic setup routines and I didn't bother this princess, no sleep problem. I just walked up and pushed the button. I don't print that much. I'm still using my first toner cartridge. But two weeks ago it completely stopped working. The Wi-Fi display and indicator will now only blink. Cannot be turned off with the power button. My computer…

He sleeps, sleeps deeply, and prints the alphabet. It never wakes up.

TERRIBLE. It was a nightmare even though they advertised it as 'easy to set up'. a small window and small letters that say "Sleep or Deep Sleep" and arrows. There are no clear instructions and no clear message box that tells you what the problem is. I've tried restarting my computer and tried many different wifi devices (ipad, kindle, macbook and my samsung phone) and if it just printed from at least one of them I would save it. This printer will break your spirit. All those guilty of its existence should be ashamed.

Nobody should buy this printer. I've never had a more frustrating technique. I'm a software developer and good at networking. And it was just impossible to keep this thing going. As other reviewers have said, Brother's efforts here are shameless. Shame on you. The user interface is beyond terrible - a one-line screen controlled by seven buttons that you have to use to navigate an exhaustingly ill-conceived menu tree. Do you want to confirm your choice? Finally printing from a Mac (OS 10.8.5) after having trouble finding a printer (once in deep sleep mode)!

I wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone looking to print from a Mac as it was very difficult to set up and then get up and running (read on to see why!) . I would continue to look for the best option with a solid install across all platforms. I bought this printer based on good reviews to print from both my kids Chromebooks and my MacBook Pro (OS 10.8.5).
