Often loses Wi-Fi connection

I'm a small business owner who got tired of digging into cheap printers so I downsized and bought this printer. It was great at first - fast and quality printing. After about 6 months, it frequently lost Wi-Fi connection. At first it was so easy to turn the router on and off again. Eventually it became a complex issue that I had to wait with customer service representatives for a solution. In the last 2 months I have spent over 4 hours on the phone or trying to solve a problem. I even broke…

Finally real double-sided card printing!

As long-time Brother printer users, we appreciate this new feature: for the first time we can use 90lb duplex cards - just in time for Christmas. Our newest printer, the 6920, survived its 4 year 2 month extended warranty and then died. (Perfect seal for life, by the way). At the same time, we used the latest inks that we had in stock. So when we were looking for a new printer and saw that the 6930 was using different cartridges, it wasn't a big deal. We need a fresh supply of ink anyway. We…

Loud grinding noise (plastic gear?) after two days of scanning.

SCAN: When using the drivers and software from the supplied CD, scan sizes larger than A4 did not appear in the PC menu. Called the hotline and didn't understand why. Higher level help sent for later call back (pending). Subsequent downloading and reinstalling the full software/driver package from the Brother website did not change the paper size menu items. Dimensions A3 / 11x17 were not shown. The Brother software has already reinstalled the latest software/driver I downloaded (and is now…

Broken devices are good for office electronics

This is the second purchase of this printer. The first had a defective network card. This second one had defective printheads. It smeared and skipped lines on all pages immediately after use. We've searched for troubleshooting, cleaning, aligning printheads and paper, new ink, etc. to no avail. We have Brother printers which are the leaders in our small business with a lifespan of over 8 years. Bought as a replacement but had to send it back. These Brother printers were not of the quality we…

Drivers need to be reloaded constantly. crooked scans.

Drivers need to be constantly reinstalled. Worst printer I have ever had due to lost production time and tech support issues. I go to scan and get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer (over WiFi). I uninstall and reinstall the same driver and it works again. No rhyme or reason why. pain in the neck. Sometimes I have to reboot my whole wifi system and also reinstall drivers. Also, maybe 2 out of 10 scans go right through. In a wide format printer/scanner, letter-size…

Great color printer for small and home businesses

I avoided inkjet printers for years because I don't like buying ink. However, I went to Staples for color prints more often than in previous years and it was time for a change. 1) Needed 11x17 - this one can handle that for printing straight from either tray and can scan 11x17, and also 2) it has duplex scanning - both sides of the page in one pass and very fast - I use that feature, maybe not3 ) Did I mention that the scanner is fast? and I love using the app on my phone, scan straight to my…
