As the owner of the original Boss Monster, I was very excited about this set. Boss Monster is very successful at most of the parties I take him to, dispelling the doubts of the other party members. Boss Monster is a fun little game but it lacks variety. Boss Monster 2 improves on this a bit with some much-needed additions (and rulebook clarifications), but overall it's the same game. I think it depends on how fun your friends are and how your personal rules change.
