Temperature rise

Glad to finally get this. I got it because it heats up higher so I can use it in my homemade metal smelter. As soon as the weather permits, I go out and use it.

Overall a very good pyrometer with a well above average temperature range

I got it for metalworking as it reaches 2732 degrees. These are my first thoughts after first use. Likes - Good design, rubber grip feels good in hand. - A distance ratio of 30:1 means it has a small beam. The beam is framed by two laser spots (you can choose one or none) so you can see what you are measuring. This allows you to measure in a narrow area behind objects. The high temperature range allows me to measure hot metals in the range I need. This is two to three times higher than most…

Accurate, versatile, easy to use, high quality instrument

I like this gauge. It may be overkill for my basic needs (outdoor grilling and baking), but it does exactly what I need it to. Accurate temperature readings in an easy-to-use format. It was set to Celsius, but after pushing a few buttons I changed it to Fahrenheit quite easily (pull the trigger, then press the T/DN button). It can be configured to notify you when the temperature is above or below a certain point, report an average temperature, or simply report the temperature at that location…

Very inaccurate, see fine print later in ad

Bad: Description given with +/- 2% accuracy in the text description at the top of the listing. However, there is an additional box further down the list with more details, clearly marked with an asterisk. This appears to be legitimate fine print as there is no apparent dilution of the original list of fine print.
