Do yourself a favor, don't buy this.

Poorly made; sharp edges, burrs, cutting errors. And of course, as already mentioned, no top panel. Take my advice, look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Made of aluminum
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Aluminum rack mounting solution

Economical solution to create your own rack design. I use it to display temperature and a Raspberry Pi project for our server racks.

Pros
  • 1U and 2U versions
Cons
  • Not sure

Disappointed with rack accessories

Please note that this product has no bottom cover. The back panel cannot be removed to drill holes. The 0.75 inch bends prevent proper access to the inside of the box. The working height is not 1.75 inches, but 1.5 inches. Not amused.

Pros
  • Natural finish
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Great case for a Pi project

fits very well. It's made of aluminum making it easy to cut and drill As another reviewer noted, there is no bottom cap (or top cap depending on how you align it. You can easily make a plexiglass lid. (There are screw holes for the lid.) I just got mine on the top left open. You will need to drill a hole in the back to route wires or power. I've found a 1" hole saw works well for this purpose. The flat front panel is unscrewed, which offers a little more convenience when cutting and clamping.

Pros
  • Measures 17" wide x 1-3/4" high x 4" deep
Cons
  • I'm worried

Great project case for Pi

This is a great 1U case for rack projects. I use it to store my Raspberry Pi and it fits very well. It's aluminum so it's easy to cut and drill. As another reviewer pointed out, there is no bottom cap (or top cap, depending on how you line it up)..) I just left mine open at the top. You'll need a hole drilling into the back to run wires or power I've found a 1" hole saw works well for this purpose. The flat front panel unscrews for a little more cutting and clamping convenience.

Pros
  • For use with a 19" wide rack
Cons
  • Something else
