Impractical for bedding and linens

My rabbit loves litter. However, it is not absorbent and will leave brown streaks if not cleaned properly. Coconut particles also penetrate everywhere.

My hamster didn't like it

My hamster didn't like it. She threw everything away and it was dusty. Next time I'll take something else. I had to mix it up with paper towels so she left some in the cage.

Pros
  • Long-term test results
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Never again. suitable for small animals

Terrible. Was wet when I took it out of my pocket and my white ferret turned brown immediately. Didn't add to absorbency and frankly attracted mosquitoes which I still struggle with. I'll stick with the bedding for his cage.

Good alternative to paper

We use it on the bottom of the rabbit hutch. We put some wool jersey bunnies on him and he got tangled in their fur so we put the metal floor back on so the bunnies don't walk right on the bedding. This is not a problem for a short-haired rabbit. The product is excellent for absorption and odor control.

Doesn't block odors.

Does not block urine odors at all. I have used it to mix with my regular bedding for my rabbits who normally spend 3 seasons outside but come in when it's cold. I smelled urine 24 hours after cleaning the cells. This is one rabbit per 20x60 cage. it also stuck to the bottom of the cell when the cage was cleaned 3 days after application. The rest of the bedding (the paper) was fine. lesson learned

Completely eliminates my rat smell

I'm really tired of my mom's comments about how my house smells but my rats are my life so I wanted to find a solution. I mainly used newspaper and felt around her cage and then I found this product. My usual method is a layer of yesterday's new unscented paper cat litter and a layer of this coconut litter on top. It takes a long time for the cage to stink (at least 2 weeks) and even if it does, it is hardly noticeable. I can add new linens between cleanings. For a deep clean, I just sweep it…
