Threaded End Sucks: Circuit Breakers, Load Centers & Fuses

works fine BUT it screws into the outlet so tightly I had to wrap rubber pliers to screw it into the nest. (You can't screw it in by hand. Quality control went wrong when installing the threaded end, the thread isn't punched deep enough. The old fuse screws in with no problems. It's annoying

Great replacement for old house fuses

I have replaced the most commonly blown fuses in our house from the 1940's with these switches. The house has old pipe wiring with very limited bandwidth. Rather than overloading fuses, which could cause fires, we've historically used 15A fuses, which often blow if we overload them with too many high-drain appliances (like toasters, microwaves, and heaters). These switches only require a push of a button to reset, rather than constantly replacing blown fuses. I recommend them for safety and…

Quality fuses worth a premium

I was a bit apprehensive about choosing these fuses due to the price and some safety concerns. Since then I have become his sincere supporter. I buy a few of these, some to replace circuitry in my HVAC lines that are "blown" with some regularity. This made it much easier to find and eliminate the root cause! Note: They are NOT a solution for situations where fuses regularly blow. This points to a more pressing underlying problem, but they can be good solutions for troubleshooting electrical…

Pros
  • Simple Edison circuit breaker with manual reset
Cons
  • Easily torn
