Cheap junk is best in electronics

I'm a mechanic at our earthmoving company. I never write reviews for anything but I thought I had to for this one. These are NOT the Bussman fuses sold in the auto parts store. They have short inner blades that don't protrude past the top of the fuse. Hold one up to the light and you will see. They are barely kept in the plastic case. You cannot test them if they are installed in the fuse box. My box flew into a barrel of scrap. I switched our storage containers to the littelfuse brand.

Not sure if authentic, description is wrong.

As others have said about the other "Bussmann" fuse kits reviewed on Revain, these fuses don't look like the Bussmann fuses I'm used to. They're more like those cheap nameless fuses that are available from Revain for a lot less than these. Also "ATC" fuses are NOT ATC fuses (C = Closed Bottom) but ATO fuses (Open Bottom). Smaller ATM fuses have a closed bottom. Revain's product description says "US Origin" but they are made in Japan (on the box. I have a bit of doubts about that claim too). I…

Good choices are Pacific (PEC) fuses and Buss fuses in the Cooper box.

Wide range of automotive fuses. PEC, Pacific brand ATC fuses, made in Japan. Check out the micro-engraving on the top of each fuse, and each one says Pacific. ATR has BUSS at the top. I assume Cooper will buy fuses as best he can, subject to price and availability. After reading another review, fakes etc. I was curious if they lived up to the specs. I took a 5A fuse from one of the Bussmann kits we bought together and placed it on my desktop power supply. I set it to 5 amps and it didn't burst.

Pros
  • Assortment of fuses
Cons
  • Not all fit
