Besides the fact that this is a very nice little saucepan, what I like about this ceramic bowl is that you can butter it in the morning. No more soaking in the microwave, which often results in a complete mess. However, on hot days (I'm in southern Oregon) it gets too soft so I just put the pot in the fridge and take it out again to leave it overnight so it can be applied in the morning. We got this pot because of the material it's made of so we can put it in and take it out of the fridge. Looks great and says what it is. Love! My husband prefers soft, spreadable butter, but he's the only one in the house who loves it, so we eat it slowly. We add a stick to this pitcher and put it on the table (with water) over the weekend, then drain the water and put it in the fridge for a week when not in use. It takes us about a month or more to sort the oil and it stays fresh all the time.
