Ideal cables for a lighting project

I received some free surface mount lights that I wanted to convert into swag lights. These cables and switches made this possible and reduced the cost of the project. The light plugs into sockets controlled by a switch on the wall. I also like the switch on the cord - you can use it to turn the light off when all the Christmas lights are plugged in. The cords look great, are the perfect length (we actually shortened the socket a little to use it for work lights elsewhere) and work beautifully.

Good quality for the price

We used them to make DIY wall lights. They're pretty good quality for the price. The cable isn't the softest and most pliable, but it works. The spot where the bulb screws in looks like cheap black plastic (which it is), but that's okay. We took it apart to run the cable through the wall mount and managed to put it back together with tape. To remove the head from the piston area you will need to pry both tabs out with a flat head screwdriver. The derailleur works well, wish it was further away…

Great light/demand switch Closer to bulb

These are ideal for attics, shops or any other place where you need lighting but don't want to install it. We use them in the attics of our house. We bought LED bulbs to use in it. The lamps consume 23 watts, but correspond to 100 watts. The length of the cord covers the entire length of each of our shots. If you have a regular sized attic, you probably only need two of these. Their only downside is that the switch is closer to the plug. I think it's about two meters from the outlet. It would…

Should be stronger

I don't like the hooks that come with it at all. The part that screws to the ceiling is fine, but the black plastic part sucks. He dropped the light directly on my transmitting station and tore a leaf from my marble queen. I have to maneuver to make it safer. I don't want to ruin the plants anymore. EDIT: The company kindly offered cable clamps and ties. This secured the cord and hook and the light has not fallen off since. Extra zip ties are a lot safer, so if you have them at home, use them…
